About TokyoNY

TokyoNY was created by native New Yorker Daniel Gartner, after packing up and moving to Tokyo following three years in San Francisco.  Born and raised in Manhattan, Daniel enjoyed three months getting to know the culture and the people of Japan, while realizing that, although Tokyo was unlike anything he had ever known, it all seemed so familiar.  The worlds of fashion, finance and media, along with the sheer number of people, collided on a scale matched only by his hometown.

TokyoNY is a design studio that serves as an outlet for Japanese and American designers to showcase their work to the public.  The company aims to accentuate the similarities among both cities, creating designs centered on functional everyday accessories, with an emphasis on convenience.  Interweaving fashion and finance, the company began with a men's wallet, designed with a simple element to help the average city dweller shave a few seconds off his commute.  We called it the City Slot™.

Since then, we've added a money clip, as well as a baseball tee, representing the national pastimes of both Japan and America.  Currently, we're working on new wallet designs and more apparel, and are excited to begin working with new designers.  As the company moves forward, we hope you will enjoy what we have created.
